Hi, I’m Tanya.
I never dreamed there would be such a thing as the internet, or that I would one day work in a digital landscape, helping others to navigate and grow their businesses. I still see myself as a small town girl who grew up wandering the world in rubber boots with a butterfly net in one hand and a library book in the other.
But here I am, almost two decades into my career and so grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to help businesses flourish.
As a science major with additional credentials in public relations, creative writing and product marketing, I’ve found my home in a world where data meets creativity.
The ability to pull and weave the threads of a brand’s story together in a way that’s meaningful to target audiences is an art and a science I will always gravitate towards. And to add search engine marketing on top of that? Yes please :)
I’m a natural born storyteller. A calm and empathetic person. An all-things-internet nerd (and if you feel like any of this is you too, you just may be my kind of people. I invite you to connect with me on LinkedIn).
Over the past 17 years I’ve seized every opportunity to help businesses of all sizes get clear on their messaging and better connect to those who need what they have to offer. Some of the businesses I’ve worked for include:
Large scale brands with household names. Those with catalogues of over 50,000 products and serve dozens of verticals across both B2B & B2C
One of Canada’s largest healthcare organizations and charities, generating millions in funding
Tech startups (marketplaces) with B2B and B2C offerings
Local entrepreneurs in health and wellness
Video production houses
Fledgling musical artists and mid-scale cultural festivals (securing over six figures in grants).
Real estate agents
And so many more
I just love what I do.
I am moved by entrepreneurs’ bravery. I am empathetic with the small business owner’s sense of ownership over every client touchpoint. I am motivated to help people through their marketing challenges, and excited to cheer on their successes.
On my own, I write about softer subjects like leadership, the value of empathy, the importance of fostering the connection with self, as well as a diverse mix of business-related topics, from podcasting, to SEO and more.
The Business Resource Lab is where I take what I’ve successfully done for others and what I’ve learned along the way and bring it to the people who need it most. People who are doing their heart’s work. People who are helping others with products, services, charities and more.
You amaze me.
So, whether you want to dive deep into shop talk, or just talk life, I’d love to hear from you.
